InvoiceOwl supports parts and labor as separate line item types when creating invoices and quotes. When you add items to a document, you can categorize each one as a part (product/material) or labor (service/work).
To control how parts and labor appear in your document layout:
- Click Settings in the left sidebar.
- Under the Documents section, click Template Designer.
- Use the designer to customize how items are displayed on your invoices and quotes.
Additionally, when setting up tax rates, you can choose to automatically apply taxes to parts, labor, or both:
- Go to Settings > Tax Rates.
- Click on a tax or create a new one.
- Check Apply to all parts/products by default and/or Apply to all labor by default as needed.
On the Mobile App
This feature is currently only available on the web app. Use the Template Designer on the web to configure how parts and labor are displayed on your invoices.
