What is profit loss in the report list?

Last updated: March 21, 2026

The standalone Profit & Loss report from the previous version of InvoiceOwl is no longer available as a separate report. The closest alternative in the current app is the Revenue Summary report.

Using the Revenue Summary report instead

  1. Click Reports in the left sidebar.
  2. Click Revenue Summary from the All Reports list.

The Revenue Summary report gives you a breakdown of your invoicing revenue over time, which covers the income side of profit and loss. It shows:

  • Total Revenue -- the total amount invoiced in the selected period.
  • Total Collected -- how much of that revenue has been paid.
  • Invoices -- the total number of invoices.
  • Average Invoice -- the average invoice amount.

Below the summary, a table breaks down revenue by period (weekly or monthly), showing the number of invoices, revenue, amount collected, and amount still outstanding for each period.

Filtering by date range

Use the date range picker to choose from This Month, Last Month, This Quarter, Last Quarter, This Year, Last Year, or a Custom date range. You can also toggle between Monthly and Weekly views.

Exporting

Click the Export button to download the revenue data as a CSV or XLSX file for use in your own accounting or profit and loss calculations.

On the Mobile App

  1. Tap the More tab, then tap Reports.
  2. Tap Revenue Summary.

The mobile Revenue Summary shows a summary at the top with total revenue and invoice count, followed by a list of revenue by period. Each row shows the period label, revenue amount, invoice count, and collected amount.

Filter by time range using the tabs: This Month, Last Month, This Quarter, or This Year.

The weekly/monthly toggle and report export are not available on mobile. Use the web app for those features.
