How do I add a line item to my quote?

Last updated: March 21, 2026

Adding line items to a quote is straightforward. Here is how:

  1. Click Quotes in the left sidebar, then open or create a quote.
  2. In the line items table, type an item name in the Item name field. As you type, matching items from your item catalog will appear in a dropdown.
  3. Select an item from the dropdown to auto-fill its name, description, rate, and quantity. Or type a new name to create a one-off item.
  4. Fill in or adjust the Description, Type (Parts, Labor, or Other), Qty (quantity), and Rate (price per unit). The Amount calculates automatically.
  5. To add tax to a line item, click + add tax below the rate column. You can pick an existing tax or create a new one.
  6. Click Add item at the bottom of a section to add another line item.
  7. To remove a line item, click the X button to the right of the row.
  8. You can drag and drop line items to reorder them using the grip handle on the left.

Using sections and bundles:

  • Click + Add section to group line items under a named section (for example, "Kitchen Work" and "Bathroom Work").
  • Click Add bundle to insert a pre-built bundle of items all at once.
  • Sections can be reordered by dragging them, and each section can be renamed or removed.

Your changes save automatically as you work.

On the Mobile App

  1. Tap the Quotes tab, then create a new quote or open an existing one and tap the Edit icon.
  2. In the Items section, tap Add Item.
  3. Type the item name to search your catalog. Tap a matching item to auto-fill its details, or enter a custom name for a one-off item.
  4. Set the Type (Parts, Labor, or Other), Quantity, Rate, and optionally a Description. The amount calculates automatically.
  5. To add tax to a line item, tap the tax option on the item editor.
  6. Tap Done to save the item and return to the quote.
  7. To remove or edit an item, tap on it in the items list.

Bundles and sections are also available when adding items on mobile.
