A contract is an agreement with terms and conditions that your client can review and sign along with the quote. Here is how to attach a contract to a quote:
Step 1: Create a contract template (if you do not have one yet)
- Go to your business Settings.
- Under Document Settings, find Contracts.
- Click Add Contract to create a new contract template.
- Write your terms and conditions in the contract body.
- Choose whether to require your signature, the client's signature, or both.
- Save the template.
Step 2: Attach the contract to a quote
- Click Quotes in the left sidebar and open or create a quote.
- Scroll down to the Contract section on the quote form.
- Click the contract dropdown and select a contract template.
- The contract will be attached to this quote.
Overriding signature requirements:
After selecting a contract template, you can adjust the signature settings for this specific quote:
- Toggle Your signature required on or off.
- Toggle Client signature required on or off.
These overrides do not change the template -- they only affect the current quote.
Viewing the contract:
Once the quote has been sent and a contract instance is created, you can view it from the quote detail page by clicking View Contract in the right sidebar.
Note: You can have different contract templates for different types of work. Select the appropriate one each time you create a quote, or set one as the default in your contract template settings.
On the Mobile App
- Tap the Quotes tab, then create a new quote or open an existing one and tap the Edit icon.
- Scroll down and tap Contract.
- Select a contract template from the list.
- You can toggle Your signature required and Client signature required on or off for this specific quote.
To create or manage contract templates, go to More > Settings > Contracts.
Once a contract is attached and the quote has been sent, you can view the contract and signature status on the quote detail screen under Contract Signatures.
