How to edit a quote?

Last updated: March 21, 2026

You can edit a quote as long as it has not been approved or converted to an invoice. Here is how:

  1. Click Quotes in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on the quote you want to edit to open the detail page.
  3. Click the Edit button in the top-right corner.
  4. The quote form opens where you can change any details: client, dates, line items, taxes, markup, discount, deposit, notes, attachments, contract, and more.
  5. Your changes save automatically as you make them -- there is no manual save button.
  6. When you are done, click the X button in the top-left corner to go back, or click Send to send the updated quote.

When you cannot edit:

  • If the quote is Approved, it cannot be edited because a deposit may have been collected.
  • If the quote is Converted, it cannot be edited because it has already become an invoice.

If a quote has been sent and you make changes, you will be prompted to re-send the updated quote to your client.

On the Mobile App

  1. Tap the Quotes tab, then tap the quote you want to edit.
  2. Tap the Edit icon (pencil) in the top-right corner of the quote detail screen.
  3. The full quote editor opens where you can change the client, dates, line items, taxes, markup, discount, deposit, notes, attachments, and contract.
  4. When finished, tap Save as Draft or Send to send the updated quote.

If the quote is Approved or Converted, the edit icon will not appear. You will see a message explaining that the quote cannot be edited.

You can also long-press a quote in the quotes list and tap Edit for quick access.
