How to quickly create a quote?

Last updated: March 21, 2026

The QuickBid feature from the old InvoiceOwl app is no longer available as a separate mode. However, creating a quote in InvoiceOwl is now faster than ever. Here is how to quickly create and send a quote:

  1. Click Quotes in the left sidebar.
  2. Click New Quote.
  3. Select your client (or type to search). The quote is created instantly as a draft.
  4. Add your line items. You can:
    • Type an item name and select from your item catalog for instant auto-fill of rate, quantity, and description.
    • Use Add bundle to insert a pre-built group of items all at once (great for common job types).
    • Drag and drop items to reorder them.
  5. Set the deposit amount if you want to collect upfront payment.
  6. Click Send to email or text it to your client right away.

Tips for speed:

  • Set up your item catalog ahead of time with your most common services and materials. This way, you just search and select instead of typing everything.
  • Create item bundles for common job types (for example, "Standard Bathroom Remodel" or "Basic Electrical Panel Upgrade"). One click adds all the items.
  • Your quote saves automatically as you type, so you never lose work.
  • Use text message sending to get the quote to your client instantly while you are still on the job site.

On the Mobile App

The mobile app is built for speed on the job site. Here is the fastest way to create and send a quote:

  1. Tap the + button in the center of the bottom tab bar and select Quote.
  2. Select your client (or search by name).
  3. Tap Add Item and search your item catalog to quickly add pre-built items with auto-filled rates and descriptions.
  4. Set the deposit amount if needed.
  5. Tap Send to email or text the quote right from your phone.

Tips for speed on mobile:

  • Set up your item catalog and bundles ahead of time on the web app. They sync to your phone automatically.
  • Use text message sending to get quotes to clients while you are still on-site.
