How do I add a customer's billing address?

A billing address is important for invoices, estimates, and tax records. Here is how to add one for a client:

When adding a new client:

  1. Click Clients in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Add Client button in the top-right corner.
  3. In the client form, scroll down to the Address field and enter the client's main address.
  4. Below the address field you will see a checkbox labeled Billing address same as address. This is checked by default.
  5. Uncheck the Billing address same as address checkbox to show a separate billing address field.
  6. Type the billing address into the new field that appears. Address suggestions will pop up as you type.
  7. Click Create Client to save.

When editing an existing client:

  1. Click Clients in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on a client's row to open their detail page.
  3. Click the Edit button in the top-right corner.
  4. Scroll down to the address section and uncheck Billing address same as address if it is currently checked.
  5. Enter the billing address.
  6. Click Save Changes.

If you leave the Billing address same as address checkbox checked, InvoiceOwl will use the main address as the billing address on all documents.

On the Mobile App

  1. Tap the More tab (bottom right), then tap Clients under Manage.
  2. Tap a client to open their detail screen, then tap the Edit icon (pencil) in the top-right corner. Or tap the + icon to create a new client.
  3. Tap the Address field row and enter the client's address. Suggestions will appear as you type.
  4. Tap Save Changes (or Create Client for a new client).

The mobile app uses the main address as the billing address. To set a separate billing address, use the web app.
